Federated Insurance Employees Giving to United Way

Employees of Federated Insurance® opened their hearts and wallets in support of their communities to create a record year of giving to United Way®. Nearly 1,750 employees across the country contributed a total of $255,683, helping Federated surpass its $250,000 goal. Adding in the corporate gift, Federated’s total donation was $343,033, nearly $10,000 more than the previous year.

Employees in the Owatonna offices gave $226,419. After adding the $70,050 corporate gift, United Way of Steele County will receive $296,469.

“The generosity of Federated and its employees makes a huge difference in the lives of Steele County residents,” said UWSC executive director Kim Schaufenbuel. “By coming together in their fundraising activities, they not only have a great time as a team, but make an impact for the work of United Way of Steele County and its 16 partner agencies.”

Aside from the individual donations and payroll deductions, Federated employees held creative fundraisers to further boost giving. Bake sales, a silent auction, and a chili cook-off were among the events held by various departments throughout the company.

“There is no more worthy cause than helping our community members in need,” said Federated Insurance Chairman and CEO Jeff Fetters. “I am so proud to see the generosity and ingenuity of our employees.”
