ST. PAUL, Minn. — Federated Mutual Insurance Company® celebrated the grand opening of its shop in JA BizTown, an experiential learning laboratory organized and operated by Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest (JAUM).
“Our support of Junior Achievement directly aligns with our corporate values of youth mentoring and developing the next generation,” said Jeff Fetters, Chairman and CEO of Federated Insurance. “Our future resides in the youth of today, as they will become the leaders of tomorrow.”
JA BizTown is a fully interactive free-market lab where students in grades 4–6 learn what it means to be responsible business leaders, consumers, workers, and citizens. Students perform specific jobs in 18 shops, each of which offers a consumer product or service. Many of the other shops housed in the Junior Achievement James R. and Patricia Hemak Experiential Learning Center, are sponsored by Minnesota’s leading companies.
“We’re grateful to Federated for their generous sponsorship of the Insurance Company,” said Gina Blayney, JAUM President & CEO. “With their support, we’re introducing today’s youth to careers in Minnesota’s greatest companies and providing them with an experiential learning opportunity that will prepare them to succeed in the workforce.”
