During the month of October, Federated Insurance employees participated in an internal, company-wide, giving campaign to support the United Way. Nearly 2,000 employees contributed more than $280,000 to their local United Way agencies, and an additional $98,350 contribution was made corporately for a total of $379,834.
“We are stronger together,” said Julie Rethemeier, vice president - director of public affairs and advertising for Federated Insurance. “It was incredible to see our employees selflessly give their time and resources to help others, especially during the unpredictability of 2020.”
Federated uses a network of employee volunteers to serve as coordinators ꟷ helping to facilitate the annual campaign. These generous individuals assist with educating co-workers, raising awareness for United Way programs, and coordinating the distribution and collection of donor forms.
“It’s clear that every employee understands the value, importance, and necessity of helping others in the communities that we live and work,” said Chairman and CEO of Federated Insurance Jeff Fetters. “Not only did we meet our goal, we exceeded our goal ꟷ raising the bar of kindness to a whole new level.”
More than $300,000 will stay locally in Steele County to help fund critical programs.
“It’s evident that Federated Insurance has a strong culture of philanthropy through all levels of their organization,” said Annette Duncan, United Way of Steele County president. “No matter the challenge, Federated Insurance employees make it happen ꟷ through the generosity of their time, their talents, and their treasures. We are so thankful to have such a wonderful partner, fighting alongside us, to ensure that every person in Steele County has access to the services they need when they need them most.”
