Life insurance and disability plan benefits are provided to all regular full-time employees that work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Primary, Supplemental and Dependent Life Insurance
Primary life insurance coverage is $50,000 per eligible employee, and Federated pays the full cost of this benefit.
Supplemental life insurance is an optional group term life insurance policy that allows you to increase your amount of life insurance beyond what you have under primary life coverage. You can choose from 1x–5x your annual benefits salary in additional coverage. The premium cost is determined annually based on your age as of January 1, and the coverage amount.
Dependent life insurance is a benefit that gives you an opportunity to obtain optional term life insurance for your eligible dependents. If you choose this optional insurance, each of your eligible dependents, including your spouse, are covered at a level of $10,000 in life insurance for one cost.
You are automatically enrolled in our short- and long-term disability plans, which provide a benefit of 60 percent of your base compensation should you be unable to work due to a disability.
You also can purchase additional coverage through our disability buy-up option, which increases your long-term disability benefit from 60 percent to 70 percent of your base compensation.
