Underwriting Support - Creating Our Clients’ Policies
Underwriting Support Specialists (USS) work with multiple computer systems to set up new client accounts, assist clients in making changes to their policies, and create and process those policies within Federated. A USS handles various state-specific insurance requirements and manages a variety of tasks and issues to help serve our clients.
Successful Underwriting Support Specialists:
Do not need an insurance background but are willing to engage in continuous learning
Have experience in business, accounting, office support or a related field, or 2 years post-secondary education in these fields
Are proven problem solvers who take initiative
Have an eye for detail and strong decision-making skills
Possess strong computer skills (preferably Microsoft Office experience)
Federated provides extensive training both in the classroom and on the job. Your training as a USS will take place over an 8 to 10-month period as you adapt to your new role. Your training will begin with a 4-month (on-site) training class. Federated employees also have Company support for individual self-development activities.
