At Federated, we believe in supporting the communities where we live and work.
Major contributions are made each year to the United Way in the cities of our three major processing offices (Atlanta, Phoenix, and Owatonna, Minnesota) and in our six other claims service office locations. Owatonna employees remain the largest contributors to their local United Way chapter, donating over $1.2 million from 1999 through 2007.
Federated is also extensively involved in helping youth and youth mentoring programs succeed. The Company helps organize and promote a series of golf tournaments and special events held throughout the United States to raise awareness and funds for local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapters and other youth mentoring organizations. The Annexstad Family Foundation, established by our Chairman – CEO Al Annexstad, awards college scholarships to students who have matured through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
We believe we have a corporate responsibility to help with worthwhile causes. Employees are encouraged to volunteer their time and help support various civic, governmental, youth, church, and school organizations.
